It's a beautiful day by the seashore in Huntington Beach pier, California, somewhere in the 80s with sunshine. The beach is packed with volleyball and surfing, and the 2002 Core Tour Sports and Music Festival Finals is rockin'. The Core Tour brings together the best amateur and pro extreme athletes and up-and-coming to big-name bands and DJs. This is a public event, that means free, no $$$$. People of all walks of life: old and young, well dressed and.... well, not so well dressed. 

Over 100,000 people watched the best "core" athletes in BMX dirt jumping, in-line skating, mountain boarding, skateboarding, and razor scooter competitions do their thing. Amateurs had a chance to make a name for themselves and earn the chance to compete with the pros in the finals.
